Never thought I'd enjoy a tennis #anime. But good anime is good anime. Great job, Madhouse. #TennisBuster 

This movie makes me want several things. It makes me want to devour more 70's era anime. This just don't make classy anime like this much anymore. Plus I'm a bit nostalgic for the character designs. Anything that remotely reminds me of Rose of Versailles makes me happy.

Second, it makes me want to devour more of the material displayed in this movie. There's no way I could be satisfied with how the movie ended. I'm left craving more of Oka's story. Third, it gives me a new perspective on the original Gunbuster by Gainax. That OVA I was told took much of it's early inspiration from this movie. It sounds farfetched, but I can definitely see it. I think I have an immensely improved perspective and appreciation for those first couple of episodes.

And also, strangely a scene at a tennis camp reminded me of a very similar scene I saw in a hentai named Fault! I think that OVA took DIRECT inspiration from this movie! Weird!
