Email spam now on SMS!

Email spam now on SMS!

The last SMS spam was about me winning the euro lottery. This one is another similar SMS spam that is an evolution of the email spam related to getting untold riches.

As less and less people respond to email spam, scammers have now resorted to SMS spam to solicit a response.

My guess is that this is run by a Nigerian or South African syndicate. But I think there's more to this than the local phone numbers would tell.

It's going to be really dangerous once they can actually address you by name. This example is a generic SMS and they're just hoping a Sandy is at the receiving end of this message. If it gets to the point where the SMS are sophisticated enough to identify you by name, we have a new spam scam war on our hands.
