Trip: Liege and Maastricht
Today we went to the Aquarium and Museum in Liege/Luik in Belgium. We drove there from my mom's house and spent some time in the stuffed and run down museum. H. liked the many animals (many worse off than even his collection) but we felt bad for the fish.
We did visit the town for a bit but the shops were not quite to our tastes. So we left and drove back to Maastricht. Here we went to the famous (for Dutch people at least) St. Pietersberg caves. We were just on time for an almost private (only one other man) tour of the smaller Northern caves. These are old limestone mines that were used after that for defense, hiding art during WWII, growing mushrooms etc. It was a lovely tour and very nice to finally have visited the caves. Someday we will also visit the other larger caves.
