Down in Hampshire waiting to tee off for the second round of the weekend. The course is excellent but they've done work on the greens which has spoilt it a bit and made tricky greens even more tricky. The hotel is good if a little too warm and there are no complaints about the food. Here's hoping that my game is better than yesterday ! ------------------

We got the car back but it's not 100% so perhaps it is time to get rid. Went over to Muncaster Castle and Ravenglass a lovely drive over Croney Fell. As it was our anniversary we went posh in the evening and had lovely meal at Fellinis. Went bed shattered again ! ------------------

Green Flag picked the car up and took us from Lancrigg to Ambleside. Luckily the B & B was just round the corner. Barnes Fell is a great B & B. Spent the day exploring Ambleside which is a lovely place. After a nap we had a few beers and a Chinese and then we were knackered. No new on the car yet. ------------------

We had a good trip up, a bit of bad weather but not too bad. The hotel is good if a bit dated. We went for a walk and got absolutely soaked. Finally the car broke down so we spent the evening waiting for Green Flag instead of watching Super Soaraway Spurs draw 2-2 in The Champions League. Apart from that we had a good day ! We've got to book the car into a garage tomorrow which will hopefully be in Ambleside where we're due. So it doesn't matter if it takes a couple of days to fix. ------------------

I had a pick up to day with the horses and the pundits from The Times did me proud but the robbing bookmakers deducted 5p in the pound with a Rule 4.

We had a great day at Sandown Park on Saturday at which for once I won more money than Shah ! ------------------
