Detractors of Vesper on Myrtle between Hall and Ryerson may want to give it a second shot now that it got a makeover. The bar just reopened after a four day hiatus and red walls and candles give it much needed atmosphere. Same motley dive-seeking crowd, same jukebox (a sure asset!), same backyard. New ceiling fans, new deck, new fence. The bar is so close to my place that I've never had the luxury to ignore it but now I hope it'll attract new blood.
