We are totally in love with this work: 'Rosy-Fingered Dawn at Louise Point' from Dutch artist Willem de Kooning. It refers to one of his favourite places: Long Island, New York. During his period period in Long Island De Kooning rode his bike daily to Louise Point where he observed the water and the beautiful dawn. The painting is characterized by large expanses of color, pastel hues and complex surfaces. De Kooning was driven by intuition and memory, just like us yesterday when we chose this artwork for our Art Based Learning. By looking at this piece of art we felt an overwhelming sense of peace.
