Blast from the past: Charts magazine, issue 1, 10 July 1999. (photo: Pierre Oitmann)
The first issue of Charts magazine, issued 10 July 1999. Notable for being the first printed publication in which the two - until then - competing Dutch singles charts (Nederlandse Top 40 and Mega Top 100) were collectively published. The magazine ceased publication in the early 2000s.
The number 1 single in both charts at the time of this issue was Britney Spears' second single, "Sometimes". Jennifer Lopez's debut single was the highest new entry in the Top 40, debuting at #5. A compilation album by ABBA topped the Album Top 100.
