I was actually quite surprised at how badass all the book reading was.
I certainly thought we had ourselves a real badass reverse harem.
Alas, it was not to be. Given the outcome of this courtship, I'd say
our little pseudo-courtesan is ALL woman.

As for the story developments, this has taken on a rather interesting
direction. I wonder if the Count is the series eventual Big Bad. He
certainly seems to grind Dalian's gears. And I would definitely like
to see the series take on a more deliberate goal and pace. Right now
it's the classic and cliched random fetch quest for an indeterminent
amount of materials strewn throughout the world. At least if someone
was trying to take over or destroy the world it move things along a
bit. I enjoy the main characters, but not enough to want to stay
around for a neverending quest.
