#PenguinDrum ep15: this was an incredibly important episode. I pity Momoka and Yuri. #anime 

If there's anything I hate, it's abusive parents. So Yuri's father is very much on my shit list. This was almost hard to watch. It kind of reminded me of certain episodes from Fruits Basket. Almost tragedy porn.

This was an incredibly informative episode though. It was nice seeing Himari's gift get to her friends, and it was nice to see that Yuri didn't rape or abuse Ringo (believe me, the statement sounds casual but I wasn't mistaking it for a casual event). But just seeing Momoka felt like a significant event. She is basically Ringo with pink hair, but she is the foundation of the show; unseen, but supporting everything. It's sad that the memory of such a cute and innocent girl could corrupt so many around her.

Her appearance reminded me of the first time anyone saw Shinji's mother in Evangelion. Her appearance was understated to be sure, but you knew that when you saw her it was a big moment and that you were gonna learn a lot just from her very appearance. We even got to learn about what was so special about that diary, she even told us the rules that governed it.

It this leaves so many more questions now. We don't know when or how she got it, or why she got it. The forces behind the diary are now the big mystery. And as for Yuri and her ambitions... nothing good ever came out of trying to resurrect the dead. And Jesus doesn't count, so don't try that one.
