#Symphogear ep1: definitely "unique", but so far worth checking out. GAR levels are surprisingly high. #anime
This feels like a combination of Precure and Saint Seiya, two shows
that really aren't that far apart. And there appears to be some
Macross mixed in as well. The Noise looks like a rather lazily
conceived (and named) nemesis, but I guess they do the trick for now.
I was a bit confused in the beginning. Things seemed a bit
melodramatic at first, someone just balling at a grave for someone we
don't care about. And then we get a flashback right after, and I
immediately begin to think that the writers are lazy if they're just
gonna get right to the point like this. But the concert was
entertaining, and the combat and flair wasn't bad.
I'll be interested to see if this show can keep my interest. It seems
to be trying really hard to go with this musical concept. But I can't
fault the show for trying. A five episode test it shall be given.
