#seitokainoichizon ep7. Another ex of how these characters aren't character, they're templates. #anime
Seriously, I will admit... I had a laugh & there was some boobage, but this was not a good episode damn it. They go on a trip to Tokyo, half the episode is on the crappy train where they barely leave the room. And the other half is in a hotel room in Tokyo. Yes, I get the joke. But it's not funny, it's pitiful. And the scrambling of language & personalities just exposes the fact ever more that these characters don't really have much character themselves.
I see elements of Lucky Star & Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei in this show, but the difference for me is that the conversations in Lucky Star were more identifiable and entertaining in that show. And the references to other anime & manga series seemed to flow well with the show's nature. In Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, the characters all had stereotypical traits and personalites, they could all be thrown into a category, like the characters in Seitokai no Ichizon are more than happy to fall into. But they had unique and entertaing quirks and twists (for the most part) that made them fun and made you care.
UGH.
