getting through this episode was a struggle. Someone please find me a copy of Kampfer!

I'm finding the characters annoying. Maybe it's my mistake for treating this like a normal, serious anime. But it feels like the show is screaming at me like it wants to be treated like one. I see elements of many shows here. To keep it short and simple, Fullmetal Alchemist with its anime references; Queen's Blade with its over-the-top ecchiness, possibly some D.Gray-man or Shakugan no Shana. God! It is so much easier to get through the stuff I enjoy. But watching shows like this makes me feel like someone is running all TEN of their nails across a blackboard.
