#GundamUnicorn ep1: I couldn't have asked for a better start to a Gundam series. #anime 

Where to start? Animation? Movie quality. Smooth as silk; lively; colorful; impressive. Music? Gave a very nice feel to the episode. Felt very epic, very important, but didn't overpower anything. The characters? I don't necessarily love the protagonist. But you usually have to grow into the characters in Gundam, especially the main characters, so I won't complain. It's kind of eerie how he resembles Kamille Bidan. The mobile suits? God! They made me so happy!

It felt like a nice progression from Char's Counterattack, where all the mobile suits, even the grunt, mass-produced Zaku & GM- type units felt beefy and powerful. The federation & Londo Bell seem to have gone with the transformable mobile suit configuration. After all the experimentation during the Gryps conflict especially, the units seem to be a appealing mix of GM plus Methuss or Zeta designs. The Methuss-like Londo Bell suits ironically looking more impressive.

I have to say Sunrise. After a deflating lack of mecha in your offerings as of late, it's nice to see a show of this quality pop up. It was well worth the wait! I soaked up each and every last second of this show, and I can't wait to see the next one. Gundam is back baby!
