Were there really any bad guys in this series to begin with? I suppose we could just label the shogunate, but it doesn't seem to stand out any more than any of the other factions. To say this series had a rough start is an understatement from my perspective. I certainly wasn't impressed with the first episode short of the animation, but you'll have a hard time convincing me there's a better anime out there this year.

This show has personally been a masterpiece. The saddest part is that it will probably be a couple of years before I get around to watching it in full again.
