Another Kid Hero: Jonathan Ross. He created and sold a cookbook called H.U.G.S. (Help Us Give Support) 

Jonathan Ross's church does mission work in Peru each summer. Jonathan was too young to go to Peru so he found another way to help the people of Peru. He created and sold a cookbook called H.U.G.S. (Help Us Give Support). He (and his mom) contacted "famous" people asking them to submit a recipe. He was surprised at the outcome. He received many, many recipes and raised over $3000 to help his church help Peru.Jonathan saw what one kid could do and knew he wanted to inspire other kids to "do something good" for those in need. He inspired at least one kid.....his little sister who recently made the H.U.G.S. 2 cookbook. She didn't raise nearly as much as Jonathan but was able to help a local food and clothing pantry with the money she raised.Jonathan is now old enough to go to Peru and he will spend the last week of June 2010 there. Another project he worked on was collecting T-shirts for the kids of Peru. He (and his mom) wrote to businesses big and small asking for a tshirt. The response was UNBELIEVABLE.....484 shirts!! He won't be able to take them all to Peru. They will be donated to local shelters and clothing pantries. Jonathan received several honors for his fundraising efforts. He said he doesn't like all the attention but at least it helps him get the word out that everyone can help....even kids. He truly wants to let kids know they can make a difference by "doing something good" for those in need.
