Worlds 2019 is a wrap. Big dissapointment performance wise! ❎Did not qualify the nation for the 2020 OG. ❎Was not able to perform according to the national olympic criteria. ❎And did not qualify myself for the test event on olympic waters next month. I will take some time off sailing to see what I will do. Looking forward to some time home with my family!! Once again a huge thanks to my sponsors and Friends for helping me getting to Japan! Sandiline, Julbo, On Deck, Finn Club Holland, Martijn, Henri and Inge, Dinghy Racing Centre, Stouwdamsport, Rutger Ter Laak, Watersportverbond and most of all my parents and sister! 👏 I have done everything according to plan the last couple of months and do not have the feeling that I left a stone unturnt. The last few weeks were amazing! First 5 days of acclimatization in Hong Kong and then more then a week of prepping around Miho Bay Japan. From tomorrow on it is time to send it again. 6 days of close and fun racing to decide who will be the best of the world! 🇳🇱 #tatakai

Happy with the improvements this week. Was sailing really well today but unfortunately the wind died down in the downwind beat of the 2nd race, and the race got cancelled. For over 10 years I have been able to train at Van Dijk Sport & fitness. Although the federation has a gym in Scheveningen, it is nice when i'm at my parents place to still be able to train in a good facility. I came in as a small 50 kg person, and now i'm still short but a bit heavier. Huge thanks to Marco, Jetze, Jan, Thomas, Truus and Anne for keeping an eye on me!
Vilamoura coach regatta is finished. And I finished the event in 6th place. Although I did not feel well throughout the event, I was happy with the consistency of my sailing.
