My granddaughter is perfect! And that appraisal that I make is visceral and uncontrollable. I find it hard to imagine that we two could have lived in another culture and my assessment be different. Of course if nurtured in another culture I would not be me, at least not the me writing this. I judge that if such a culture could contrive to make me bereft of these natural feelings, it would be a sick one. They have existed and do exist.

A 'byproduct' of 'human consciousness,' or how people naturally organize themselves? It has been said that we have a born first nature and a developed second nature - both with wide variations. But we do have natures that interact with training that causes modifications (domestications?). Also, some would say 'human' behavior doesn't exist without culture, as 'cats' behavior is feral without human domestications (culturizations).

Many thanks to @Aron_Ra for speaking to my Atheism class about creationism, evidence, and science. Thank you! My student, Phil King, would like feedback on this slide. Any ideas? A ping pong bar in #Portland Pips & Bounce
