Rio is nog maar net achter de rug, maar Tokio voelt al dichterbij dan ooit! De tijd tikt want iedereen wordt elke Olympische cyclus beter en beter. Komend seizoen is een cruciaal jaar voor mij omdat ik nu écht de aansluiting wil maken naar de top. Tijdens het WK, dat in 2017 gehouden wordt in Nederland, moet ik laten zien dat ik het waard ben om te investeren voor Tokio. Het wordt dus echt een alles of niets jaar en daarom moet ik mijzelf aan het einde van het jaar in de spiegel durven te kijken, wetende dat ik er echt álles aangedaan heb. Geen financiële excuses meer! Komend jaar wil ik alle wedstrijden mee kunnen doen die bijdragen aan een goed resultaat op het WK, waaronder de Worldcup in Miami, maar zonder financiële steun gaat dit niet lukken.
