Typical N tactic. My nmom would try to blame her high bp on me. Not that she drank like a fish, ate badly and didn't exercise.

In the future, since your dad was the one who was going to give her the lift, let him text her the options. The less involved you are with her the better. Also, if someone does something stupid, but no one gets hurt, probably best to just drop it unless there's a chance of it happening again. Someone driving drunk would be an example of that.

And going forward, no more family gatherings in remote places. How about a resort with a lot of separate areas to go to?
