It is the only right decision to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. That doesn’t mean it can’t hurt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m relieved we got the final call so soon after the athletes spoke up. It shows us how important we are, and what we can accomplish when we stick together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m feeling for those that were ready, well prepared and maybe thinking about one last trick. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There will be others for whom it is a blessing in disguise. The young, the injured. They welcome the extra year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m mostly relieved that the inevitable has been decided. Now it’s time to focus on our health, and the health of the people around us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And of course we will change our plans and be ready as soon as the smoke clears up. For now, take care of yourself and others ✌🏻.
