Worcester Bravehearts 2014
This afternoon a few members of the Bravehearts, Worcester's new semi-pro baseball team, came to our day camp to practice with our 6-7 year olds and our 11-13 year olds. Before they left, the GM set aside 15 tickets to tonight's game for me and the other camp counselors. I had been wanting to see a Bravehearts game all summer but never had the time, so this was my first game at Fitton Field since the Tornadoes folded up 24 months ago. It was a great night for baseball... I showed off a little bit of Woostah culture to our counselors, we got to see the players who came to our camp earlier in the day, there was a grand slam, it was a record attendance (a sold out crowd of more than 3100), and the Bravehearts beat the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide, 6 to 2, to secure a bye in the playoffs and earn home field advantage in Round 2.
