The Dead Toreador
This weekend was The Worcester Art Museum's Flora in Winter, in which local florist and garden clubs arfe invited to create and display flower arrangements based on pieces in the gallery. This was one of my favorites this year, it's an arrangement done with palms; based on Manet's painting The Dead Toreador (which is on loan from Washington DC, I believe). I liked it because the flat, horizontal shape and the balck, white, and red colors are a perfect minimal image of the painting. By the way, the paiting on the far right is a Monet; WAM was the first American museum to buy one of his pieces. Go Worcester Art Museum!!
